Late winter/early spring is a great time to see what indoor activities are available for all ages at Berkshire South. Shake off the winter doldrums and the cabin fever and try something new! Learn CPR or become a certified babysitter. Scouts earn badges and theres help for students with their homework. Learn or improve your golf game while the courses are still closed. Become a Big Brother or Big Sister, or bring the entire family to a special dance. Attend an educational lecture, whether by one of our trained staff or a live broadcast from New Yorks 92nd Street Y. Theres so much happening at the Center you should be sure to take advantage of everything!

LIFEGUARD / WATERFRONT CERTIFICATION
Learn to be an American Red Cross certified lifeguard and gain valuable employment skills. Swimmers must have a proficient Freestyle and Breaststroke. At the completion you will have certifications in Lifeguard Training, CPR for Professional AED, Standard First Aid. Berkshire South offers a Senior Tea Dance Program that is open to all seniors including groups from Senior Centers, Retirement Homes, Assisted Living and Nursing Homes. ACHILLES TRACK
Berkshire South's Western MA chapter of Achilles Track is a nonprofit organization that provides support, training and technical expertise to runners at all levels. Achilles includes people with all kinds of disabilities, such as visual impairment, stroke, cerebral palsy, paraplegia, arthritis, amputation, multiple sclerosis, cystic fibrosis, cancer, traumatic head injury and many others. FITNESS BODY ASSESSMENT
On-Going
This assessment will help you identify your overall strengths and weaknesses from a fitness standpoint, will allow for specific fitness goal indentification and provide alternative approaches with the guidance of a personal trainer. Your flexibility, upper and lower body strength, stability, balance, body fat %, target heart rate and body alignment will all be assessed and measured. Appointments must be made 24 hours in advance.
