Hip Hop Class/Creative Movement

Monday - Friday

10 - 11 a.m.

Do you know how to pop, lock and freeze? If not, you will

learn what the hip hop hype is all about! This class will

teach basic hip-hop dance principles, signature moves and

introduce the many hip hop styles present today.

MOVIE AFTERNOON

Friday   1:30-3:30 p.m.

Come and enjoy a new release for only $3 per person.

Cool Science for Curious Kids

10-11 a.m.

Monday      Slimy Matter

Our curious students will manipulate two polymers to make slimy goop and gooey worms. Students will come home with a sampling of their experiment.

Wednesday      Magnetic Matter

Students will discover and explore a fluid that has some properties of a liquid AND some properties of a solid~a magnetic material that is used out in space and right here on Earth.

Cool Science for Curious Kids

Tuesday     What’s Growing in our Waters?

Come and help us discover what tiny microorganisms exist in our wetland.

Wednesday or Thursday      Tracking Program

Come and be a CSI investigator in the habitat around Berkshire South. Students can join us on one or both of these days of tracking and trying to cast tracks. We will hike on our trails here so dress appropriately.

Cooking with Baku

Thursdays 3-4:30 p.m.

January 7–28

This class will explore a variety of cooking methods and 

skills needed in the kitchen . Children 14 years and older will have the opportunity to make fun, easy and healthy alternative meals for themselves and their families . They will also discover how to help shop for the healthiest food and highest quality ingredients for their cooking.

Finally this class will take a look at the digestive tract and how these and other foods affect their bodies and provide the fuel they need throughout the day with natural remedies that can be made easily at home

Hip Hop Class 

Ages 8 to 13 years

Thursdays 3:45 – 5 p.m.

In addition, students will learn to remember and pick up choreography, being able to then perform or show the movement to others.

Recreational Gymnastics

Fridays

Learn and build upon basic tumbling, uneven bar and

balance beam skills, including handstands, cartwheels, back hip circles, back walkovers and more. Students must wear leotard or shorts.

Monument Valley Homework Center

Monday - Friday (when school is in session)

3-5 p.m.

Students will have guided assistance to accomplish

homework assignments and projects. Upon completion of

assignments, there will be time for enriching activities such

as arts and crafts, team building sports, chess and other board games, etc. Parents need to register their child/children for this program. Transportation may be provided.

Members $65 per week     Guests $15 per day.

Located at Monument Valley Middle School.


Middle School Dances

Friday Evenings     6:30-8:30 p.m.

February 12, March 19, April 16, May 14  &  June 11

Students who are in 6th, 7th and 8th grades (up to age 14)

are welcome to attend. Dances are chaperoned events with

refreshments available to purchase. Parents are welcome to

attend. Students must be signed in and out by a parent or

guardian. School ID is required.

Fee: $ 6


ACTION ADVENTURES OUT-OF-SCHOOL

Children 5-12 years of age

January-June 2009 Monday - Friday 3:00-6:00pm

Farmington 3-5:30 pm

Action Adventures Out-of-School emphasizes strong beliefs in children’s capabilities and the freedom to express their individuality in a way that will build a life-long foundation for excellence and success. Children are encouraged to discover their own talents as a way of empowering themselves. These after school sites provide quality after school care for school age children. All sites will include homework time, physical activities, arts and crafts, as well as free time under the supervision of a mature, nurturing and creative staff. Students enrolled full-time receive 50% off enrichment programs. Financial Aid is available. Teen pick-up Soccer is a chance for teens to hone

their soccer skills in the fall season. Come with your

own team or pick up a team when you arrive. All are

welcome.

CO-ED TEEN PICK -UP VOLLEYBALL

13 to 15 years Jan 5  to March 30

Tuesdays           5 - 6:30 p.m.

Teen pick-up Volleyball is a chance for teens to play

and improve their game in the fall season. Come

with your own team or pick up a team when you

arrive. All are welcome.

CO-ED TEEN PICK-UP BASKETBALL

13 to 15 years Jan 8 to March 26

Need to be at work early? Our Early Drop-off Program offers early morning care and enrichment for your school age child or children at Muddy Brook Elementary School. Feel safe knowing your child is in a safe and fun environment in the morning and to school on time!

Snowy Day Program

PRE-REGISTER!

Pre-registration is required for Snowy Day. Enrollment is

limited. There will be no out-of-school programming! Never miss work again because of snow days. Berkshire South’s Snowy Day Program gives the working parent an option when school is cancelled due to inclement weather. Families who register for the Snowy Day Program are welcome to drop their children off for a day filled with art projects, swimming, music and sports. All children must be registered in advance as space is limited.

Full Day  8 a.m.-6 p.m.  Members $35     Non Members $45

Half Day $ 20  

 

Cancellation Policy

If public schools are closed due to inclement weather,

early childhood, youth and teen programming will also be

cancelled. To sign up for the Snowy Day Program, contact

Joan Peters at 413-528-2810, ext. 34. When there is the

possibility of a snow day, tune to the following Radio and
